Jake Kuhn 1,556 #1 Posted December 23, 2014 This is not a for sure thing yet, but just looking to see if anyone might be interested in a 3 piece trans rebuild kit? The kit would contain all new bearings, seals, bushings, gaskets, roll pins for the differential, and a new shift boot. The kit would probably cost around $150 or $175 If you think you might be interested in one let me know so I can figure out if its worth doing, and I have them, I'll probably only have a couple available. Thanks, Jake This is what the kit would contain, along with a new shift boot, and roll pins. This kit is for a 5010 with the needle bearing, a 5003 would use a different bearing and seal And a set of gaskets.

Jake Kuhn 1,556 #3 Posted December 23, 2014 How do I tell which trans I have? I believe you are asking about how to tell the difference between a 5003 and 5010? If not, let me know and I'll try to answer your question. The 5003 was used in the rj58, and the brake band was mounted on a tab vertically up and down, the suburban used a model 5010, and the brake band tab was on a 45 degree angle. stevasaurus 22,882 #10 Posted December 24, 2014 Jake...I think you need to rearrange your kit for a bit. I will call you Friday...good idea though...just need to fine tune the package.
Desko 610 #11 Posted December 29, 2014 What about kits for the regular 4-6-8 speed i dont have any rjs or suburbans so i dont know if those bearings and what not are easier to get.
stevasaurus 22,882 #12 Posted December 29, 2014 You can get all the bearings and seals for an 8 speed transmission (except the 1533 ball bearing) from Motion Industries or NAPA. The numbers are pinned at the top of the Transmission Section...Cross-over bearing thread...the 3rd PDF.
