Windolph Crawler Centerfold

The centerfold of Lawn and Garden Tractor Magazine, Nov/Dec, 2011.

And some pics of mine. It fits in my truck with 6" to spare. And yes I park it next to the Corvette in the garage.DSC_8453_zpsb807a926.jpg00z0z_b0RszPVTTuq_600x450_zps2a60b3c2.jpDSC_7307_zps90a1890f.jpgDSC_7311_zps3c4b4c36.jpg

Around a 1950. Difficult to discern the exact year as there is not much info out there. They were not made very long.

That's the plan. It will be a worker. Replacing the roller pins right now which were pretty worn on one side.

You can get the approximate year of manufacture of the tractor from the engine's serial number.  Wisconsin engine manufacturing data is available on line. My approach was to decide that my tractor had been built within one year of engine manufacture, my engine was built in 1951. The tractor's serial number is stamped on the top of the rear axle, underneath the seat. My Windolph's SN is 3137, engine 1475704.

It has a 1977 TJD engine so that's no help in this case.I looked for the serial number on the tractor and there is a number stamped on the top front under the seat which is 1026.

It would be nice to find another one to compare to, maybe be able to see an approximate of how many were made annually. Do we know the actual years they were in production?

I bought that issue of LAGT hoping that there was something in it besides "foo foo." I was disappointed. Nothing of value regarding restoration information. And, what's up with those tracks? That at least would have been worth the purchase price.
