Geno the XL like this     th_657comeshome008_zps9a8c9482.jpg     see the original underneath  is not the original engine it should have the balloon emblem. That would be a HH60 engine.

I'll run the numbers on it tomorrow to see if it's a 67 HH60-105013B.   I got this from my dealer friend in Jersey who sold it new.  It is a one owner and I have every receipt for work done on it (most of it by the same dealer) since new but didn't see an engine swap receipt.   :eusa-think:

Repopped is a new one on me too :confusion-scratchheadblue: ...could you also call it rebuilt?  I always thought" remanufactured" was considered a "Factory" rebuild or recondition of some sort.  but hey,Maybe I'm wrong ....just saying  :) .

Well I got the numbers off of the tag on the shroud and it is a HH60-105013B, which is what is supposed to be on a 67 657.  I guess maybe it's a late model with the new decal or it could also be like a lot of things that we find are not set in stone when it comes to these old tractors.  :)

Geno, I've noticed Those larger rectangle shaped Decals were commonly placed on 70's and up troybuilt tillers and some other applications . I've bought up a few of those tillers and a few of those engines for parts and future rebuilds. So, I've come to believe  that The balloon Decals seem to be pretty much on the 60's stuff (H & HH models). also,  The Balloon engine decals on the older "60s" tecumsehs wording indicates CAST IRON for the HH models and not on the H models(referencing to horizontal shaft model that is).  I've only noticed this with my own observation in buying these "tecky" engines.

Just my 2 cents :)

So you think someone changed the decal?  I've been looking around and can't find the decal like on mine anywhere.

Refering to your rectangle decal, I've seen them originally placed on the gas tanks of trot built tillers and I believe I remember seeing them on the fan shroud of tecumseh VH (vertical shaft) engine models of Lawn tractors of many brands .     also , I've seen your rectangle decal for sale on ebay a few times.  Again, just telling you info from my own observations of engines... :)

I'm getting even more confused now.  I just brought up the HH60-105013B manual in the manuals section on here and it shows a drawing of a rectangular decal.  :eusa-doh:

Just a clarification , the decals we're talking about are also on the same vertical shaft models as well as horizontal models.. (i.e. , HH=cast iron horizontal shaft engines , VH = cast iron vertical shaft engines in different sizes).

Hard to say, maybe manuals printed later have different or more recent pics.   Just going by my observations.    I'm not claiming anything absolute ...sorry if I'm confusing you... :)  :text-imsorry:

hey craig how many wheel horses could you have bought instead of the Goodyear's. my brother did a complete resto on a 71 charger he ended up putting b.f.g. on it because of the cost of even the repops. he needed the G7015. the car is nice enough for him to be invited to the Chicago auto show right before thanksgiving this year. nice looking car
