hoosier 1 #1 Posted October 19, 2008 Okay, I finally started to put the Kohler back together that I took apart over a year ago. Everything went fairly well until I started on the piston. The ring set was purchased from Carquest. Problem is the spacer for the bottom groove will not even begin to fit in it. Too tall heightwise for the groove. The piston is .010 over. Looking on the inside of the skirt shows Ind. Brasil, 6 or G 8021. On the other side, MAHLE 85L73. The Carquest ring set is N-73772. Do I have an unusual piston or is the ring set incorrect?
