edgro 677 #1 Posted November 24, 2014 found this 3 blocks from my house, $200, stuck a battery in it, and air in the tires, and my grandson drove it home. may be GT1600? everything is painted over, has gray where the paint is coming off. The old guy I got it from said he painted it after 9/11 Motor sounds good, otherwise it's kind of beat, most likely will part out. I have a 414-8 with a locked M14 motor, possible engine transplant? will it work thanks in advance for any advice Ed
Martin 2,131 #3 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) im not as good at this as TT, but i would say you have a 83 or 84 GT1600/1642. I'm fairly sure 82 was the only year that didn't have the hood catches, and the 18 hp twin engine only came with hydro and you have an 8 speed. I'm sure TT will be along to correct me if I'm wrong. bmsgaffer 2,043 #4 Posted November 24, 2014 I have a 414-8 with a locked M14 motor, possible engine transplant? will it work It should work as a trasnplant but you will need more stuff than if you just found another magnum. I dont know the magnums or briggs very well but you will have to study the wiring diagrams because i think the wiring is a bit different... dont hold me to that though. AMC RULES 37,102 #5 Posted November 24, 2014 I see hood catches... just not latched/hanging down.
woodchuckfarmer 333 #6 Posted November 24, 2014 Keep it and run it in the 4th of July parade.....lol
edgro 677 #7 Posted November 25, 2014 yes, it does have hood latches, and I did think about the parade idea. that might be fun. I kind of hate to part out a running functional tractor. I do need a seat pan/fender for my c-175 broken plastic, and it looks like this might fit I got a useable snow blade, and a set of tires with chains, so that alone is almost worth the price paid
Pollack Pete 2,273 #8 Posted November 25, 2014 Looks like your grandson is having a ball on it.I wouldn't take the tractor away from him.Put a steel fender pan on your c-175.I think the steel fender looks better and you don't have to worry about the flimsy plastic. What was Wheel Horse thinking when they put a plastic fender on a tractor? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

woodchuckfarmer 333 #10 Posted November 25, 2014 I see a briggs twin, could be a GT 1848 if it has the hyd lift.
