Nice, Geno! Those motors if they are K series are worth getting your hands on! I am curious though. I know that our modern tractors use resistor plugs but on a battery ignition, how does that radio sound on anything but a very close AM station?

As an old AM disk Jockey, (radio personality as we liked to say), I remember the old cons of Amplitude Modulation. Signal drops on iron bridges, buzzing on almost every single transformer you pass, buzzing when you had a crack on your distributor cap, buzzing with bad damp plug wires, CB radios with guys using linear amplifiers breaking into your favorite Deep Purple song, etc etc. How about it Gumshoes? Geno? Ever have them hooked up while mowing? And yes I'm showing my age a bit! Hope this doesn't hijack your thread!   :eusa-whistle:

Wow Gene, I envy you. Seems you are surrounded by wheel horses for sale, here in the south there just aren't any. :eusa-think:

I'm trying to stop, really I am

Sure keep telling yourself that. Me and everyone else will agree that you aren't going to stop until you own every single wheel horse tractor, attachment, and all the way down to all the wh nuts and bolts. Of course, you won't get every wh. I will never let mine go. Its either going a friend, if i have a son than him, or its going in my grave (not really) lol.

On a second thought, I could use it as a headstone. Saying:        Here lies Justin

                                                                                                    He's now in heaven

                                                                                                  driving a Wheel Horse

                                                                                                       right with Jesus

Haven't had it on a tractor yet, just the test bench.  It does still have the resistor under it on the right bracket (1st pic).  I would think if I can keep the power wire away from the coil and charging wires hopefully it won't pick up much emitting noise.  Surely :wh:  designed it for these tractors and took noise into account, I hope.

Awesome score Geno! A 953 even!!! Yayyyy! Lol! :-P If you end up getting locked in the shop, can I come too? Haha!!!

....p.s...you didn't pick those up in Inez Ky did ya?

...upon further review....you did!!!! That's the guy I bought my rear ags from and the deck I restored for the 701. My Mrs wanted that 653 also. What gave it away was the cut off belt guard, cigarette lighter over the choke, and coil springs under the seat! Haha! :-)
