I'm planning to go, as of right now, but it's a long way off, things could change by then.

I have a self contained truck camper and will most likely want to camp at the fairgrounds. Have any of you ever camped there? I couldn't find any way to make a reservation on the fairground's web page. Can you reserve a camp sight?

Dale I know that Bill is going to call the hosting company to see what is happening to the site. Hopefully it'll be back up soon.

I'm sure if anybody can sort it out it will be Bill. I went once on year 2 or 3 of the show, but as a passenger, so I will definately need directions :D

Hey Jim. Camping at the show is a general admission type of thing. You just show up and pick a spot to set up and yer in. Its actually a parking lot with some shade trees but I suspect those spots go Thursday morning when the first diehards start showing up. There are no electricity or water hookups but showers and bathrooms are available on the grounds. I have never camped but have been to the last 4 shows and thats how its set up.

Thanks Mike. It sounds like I might be better off to reserve a spot at a local campground. I won't make it there until Thursday evening. At least at a campground I could run the A/C without having to run the generator.

Next question.... Can anybody from that area recommend a campground near the show?

An you aint jokin Buzz. I was just askin the wife to call an set up some reservations at the Hampton Inn for my son and I and my neighbor and his son. I love the pool and free breakfast. After driving like 6-7 hours Frioday to get there I need a nice place to get all my beauty sleep for the Saturday part of the show. Seems that theres sometimes a Super Chevy Show of some sort on the same weekend thats nearby and it kinda gets the local hotels filled early. I was late gittin reservations one year(called around April) and I just snagged the last room at the Hampton.

I also want to have my D-160 Twin at the show this year if its all fixed up in time. Seems like theres never enough time is there?

Mike.........

Hey Jim, there's a commercial campground less than two miles up the road. I never was in it and not sure what amenities it has but it sure is convenient. I couldn't find it in any campground guide. You could give them a call and ask questions and have them send you a brochure. It's called Conewago Campground and the phone number is 717-677-8958. There is a Conewago Isle CG in the guides but that's a different one and pretty far away.

Buzz,

Thanks, I'll give them a call. As long as they've got a halfway level spot and somewhere to plug in it's good enough for me. With the price of propane what is these days I hate to run the generator if I don't have to.
