thehorse 221 #1 Posted October 15, 2014 Sorry for so many posts and questions.... The new to me 416-h seems to be working well. I do have a question/concern though. When going from forward to neutral, the machine really stops hard and when going from reverse to neutral in damn near pops a wheelie....... Although this would be great for parades and showing off for the neighbors, I'm afraid my 12 year old is going to get hurt. I'm sure this is not normal but not sure if there is an adjustment to make or if I have a problem. Thanks Len Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
varosd 1,185 #2 Posted October 15, 2014 meaning the motion control level seems to be binding,too much friction until you push a little too hard and bam! it's there? your control is on the floor right? When not running, can you go push and pull the motion control w/o issues? Make sure there isn't a bunch of crud on,between the friction washer/plate (under the seat) I just used some steel wool to get all the grime off the plate and it slides better. varosd 1,185 #4 Posted October 15, 2014 was it better,same or worse after fluids and filter change? sometimes that cam plate will be all wallowered out and might need to be changed out. km3h 543 #10 Posted October 15, 2014 AS you know I put a foot pedal on the 416 I am restoring. I have not as yet tried to drive it because I am not finished working on it. What I did was jack up the rear and spent about an hour making sure the adjustments were smooth. You will have to remove the seat pan to do this but it should be worth it. It will give you a good look at all the adjustment points and where if any place it is binding. Having only used the "floor" shifter hydro..I really like it. need to find someone with the hydro pedal(OEM,aftermarket) and try it out. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
bmsgaffer 2,045 #12 Posted October 15, 2014 You have the 416 with the cracked frame/mounting plate, correct? The flexing of that connection could cause these issues.
