Andrew D. 23 #1 Posted October 13, 2014 hello I am new to the sight so this is all new to me,I am 15 and starting to get into wheel horse and so far this sight has been a ton of help, My 1973 wheel horse 10 automatic is not turning over or even clicking the solenoid when I turn the key but if I cross wires on the solenoid with the key on it fires right up I am guessing a bad connection somewhere but no luck so far I replaced the solenoid and have gone trough some of the wiring cleaning it up, It worked fine when I bought it and slowly got worse (sometimes cranking over from the key sometimes not) what do you think? could you add a link of an electrical diagram for my tractor if possible? Save Old Iron 1,566 #2 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Click on the MANUALS button at the top of this screen - then Wheel Horse Manuals and follow links to your particular model. I'm not sure what "crossing the wires" means. If you mean applying a jumper between the battery and starter studs on the starter relay you have confirmed the wiring is good from the battery to the starter. Next, try a jumper wire from the battery stud on the relay to the TRIGGER stud on the relay If the starter relay is functioning properly, the engine will crank , and if the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the engine will start.
