wallfish 16,780 #5 Posted October 17, 2014 Pull the flywheel, probably a coil and a bad condenser in there. The previous owner took the easy way out and just added an external battery coil.
formariz 11,974 #6 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) That is a utility k91S. Came with a starter/generater set up and battery ignition. May be easier to put it back that way than to find the right stator for it as long it will fit in whatever its going to be mounted on. I have a "few" of those engines. AMC RULES 37,102 #7 Posted October 26, 2014 Then, isn't that one of those tapered crank engines?
formariz 11,974 #8 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Then, isn't that one of those tapered crank engines? Its a regular crank as i see it. You need to remove flywheel and see whats missing from it. For sure the ignition coil but probably also the bracket assembly for it. I f none of that is there thats what you will need along with a condenser. Coil and condenser are easy to obtain but the bracket may be a bit of a chalenge. Edited October 26, 2014 by formariz
