posifour11 723 #1 Posted October 7, 2014 I'm looking at a 418A this weekend. Does this have the 700 or 1100? I looked in the model list, but it didn't mention the trans. Thanks
dcrage 628 #2 Posted October 7, 2014 They are Eaton 1100 -- Also have the bigger front axles

pfrederi 17,905 #4 Posted October 8, 2014 I think the 418C had heavy duty Front spindles..The 418A had standard spindles
Fordiesel69 263 #5 Posted October 8, 2014 Keep this tucked away: 700 does NOT have an oil filter, unless someone was handy enough to rig one up remotely. The 1100 has one near the left rear tire. This takes the mystery out of the "automatic" vs "-H" branding. I always thought any of the 300/400 series that said automatic was the 700.
19richie66 17,523 #6 Posted October 8, 2014 Got my dads 418A and love it. Its a beast around the yard. The 1100 trans is very strong. You will like it.
dcrage 628 #7 Posted October 8, 2014 I think the 418C had heavy duty Front spindles..The 418A had standard spindles My mistake -- I was thinking of the rear axles and comparing them to the size on my 310-8 -- The 418-A rear axle is bigger than the axle on the 310-
boovuc 1,090 #8 Posted October 9, 2014 The other big thing to look for when determining an Eaton 1100 from an Eaton 700 is the hydro lift. If it's an Eaton and it has a hydro lift, it's an 1100. If it has a manual lift, it's the Eaton 700. This is with newer 300, 400 and 500 series tractors and not to be confused with older WH tractors with Sundstrand rears.
