Ken B 3,164 #1 Posted October 7, 2014 Most of you already know I got this 417 via a trade with my brother... I spent a few hrs. cleaning and detailing it, now that its all clean I guess its time to get it dirty! I trailer a trailer down to my Dadfs house to mow his lawn which I will do tomm. I wish the grass would stop growing. Today I adjusted the governor so its a little more sensitive and adjusted the throttle cable and throttle stop. I put a tach on it because the throotle response seemed a little soft, it was only reaching 3000 rpm's. Much better now! Here are a few pics, one next to my other 417 with forward swept...

c-series don 8,652 #7 Posted October 7, 2014 Wow that is a nice 417, I'm getting ready to knock the dust off mine, cause it has the pretty much permanently mounted 2 stage blower on it. Yours is sweet .

kayvonmansouri 10 #11 Posted October 7, 2014 Nice horses! What RPM's is it reaching now that you've adjusted the governor? Also do those ribbed tires limit the grass smashing prior to entering the mower deck resulting in a cleaner finish?
Ken B 3,164 #12 Posted October 7, 2014 Nice horses! What RPM's is it reaching now that you've adjusted the governor? Also do those ribbed tires limit the grass smashing prior to entering the mower deck resulting in a cleaner finish? Adjusting the throttle stop and cable is what got me back to 3600 rpm. The tri ribs stink for cutting grass IMO. The front of the deck is now a little bit higher which cause's more grass clippings to get sucked into the blower screen and the cut is a little uneven when you make turns..
