saguaro 0 #1 Posted October 11, 2008 The paint I want to use on the crank case is only good up to 200 degrees. Does the case get that hot? Cylinder/head temps? It's an HH60
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted October 11, 2008 I have painted several engines with good old Krylon aerosol enamel and have only see it burn or discolor around the exhaust port so far. (which is exactly what most original engines look like after a short time too.)
sorekiwi 761 #3 Posted October 11, 2008 In my experience even the engine paints will burn off around the exhaust port. However the rest of the area around the cylinder and the head itself seem OK.
saguaro 0 #4 Posted October 11, 2008 Thanks. Both of you. Never seen an unburnt exhaust either.
sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted October 11, 2008 By the way, the above comments apply to RED paint only, anything other than RED qualifies it as a b@stard child, and all warranties are null and void! :omg:
