Can someone please tell me what shade of red to use the repaint my Charger 12.

Yes, the color red gets asked about a lot.    But I can see why....many differences out there because when you compare red apples to red apples, there can be a very noticable difference.  I found that out painting my 606. .... small parts rattle canned red, engine tins powdered red and frame and sheet metal all sprayed with automotive grade paint in my garage.....Thought they would look all the same being they were labeled IH RED... and they all look different  .  Stupid me......

I've even dropped the dough on "new toro red" spray can and a gallon can, and they were different shades.   Go figure.

A few years ago I painted a jeep.  Got 3 quarts of paint in a gallon can.  Painted all except the front fenders.  The following week I painted the fenders with the same can of paint.   They did not match!  TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY, AMOUNT OF THINNER, AIR PRESSURE, COLOR OF PRIMER.  Many things have an affect on the color of paint.   On the Wheel Horse I use Rustoleum Regal Red and WalMarts $1.54 red.    Rustoleum takes very long to dry but is durable.  WalMart paint dries fast for those parts I cant wait to install.  "Git 'er done!"  And the two seem to match well.

Rustoleum Regal Red is all I use except with my new project, an '83 Work Horse.

 

The Rustoleum takes long to dry. I use the rattle cans and, the results are fine. Once dry, very durable.

the question of what color depends on what you intend to achieve with your selection.

 

If you want the color to be the most "correct" for the time frame the tractor was produced, that will be only one of several shades applied to tractors wearing the WH or Toro badges.

 

You will find several "popular" colors too

and since there are no WH police      to tell you your are wrong,

 

choose the one you like the best and enjoy.
