47JDG 65 #252 Posted November 19, 2014 I have my SK-486 ready to go and used it this morning. The blower is an earlier 32" inch model (36" at the widest point) that has been cobbled up and converted over to a tach-a-matic setup. This setup actually works really good and has no issues other than being a little ugly. I used the blower all last winter on my C-81 with no troubles other than having to spend most of the time in low range for the 8 horse. The 16 horse is going to handle the task a lot better this year.
RMCIII 838 #253 Posted November 19, 2014 Cobbled or not, it is a worker. Rob
82Caddy 851 #254 Posted November 19, 2014 Well, I got the oil issue sorted out. Turns out the breather place was on upside down, not entire sure how it worked so well for so long but that's fixed. Pushed snow with it this morning. Much easier and better then using a shovel.
Flatheadpete 183 #255 Posted November 20, 2014 Pushed again last night. Has an oil-consumption problem but other than that my 856 is running great. Sure plows snow alot better than it mows grass!

Rich Gilbert 1 #257 Posted November 21, 2014 Here in south FLA, I sit by the pool and NEVER get snow! My 308-8 is still mowing as of last week. The grass grows slowly during this "dry season" so I only need to mow about once a month. And, no, I do not miss the winters of northern Ohio.
RMCIII 838 #258 Posted November 22, 2014 Rich - I have lived in Fla. (3) different times...... I guess the first (2) were not enough to convince me that it is just TOO DARN HOT AND MUGGY for me down in that state. I know exactly where Port St. Lucie is also... Use to be part of my travels when I was there the last time. But you do have a point. Your horse only needs to worry about, what we would call summer duties, up here... ronhatch 406 #261 Posted November 23, 2014 My 857 does a great job if the snow isn't too deep. BUT,there are times when I need to get out the big gun, my 4016 Case w/ a 48" snowthrower. I find plowing is a lot more fun then blowing.

boovuc 1,090 #266 Posted November 24, 2014 We are ready for snow in Central Pennsylvania. (Not Buffalo Snow)! I would like to say I won't need to even fire them up this year. I find the older I get, the less I deal with snow and cold weather!
RMCIII 838 #267 Posted November 24, 2014 Mack - Nice Fleet! I'm still on the look for a FEL.... Sure would like to find one at a decent price.... Denny - those Illinois winters can be LONG and COLD! That should help keep that white stuff at bay! Ron - you also know those Illinois winters..... I like the pint job on the 857, well done! When I was grwoing up, my neighbor had a Case 446, I always did like it. He had the rear hitch also. Paul - glad to see you and Shaun survived..... Great seeing some action shots of that MONSTER chute in use! Martin - OUTSTANDING job on the rebuild. Can't wait to see some videos of that in use. Scott- I was wondering when the every popular "V" blade would appear! If you ever want a project for an "xi", let me know! That blade ia aswesom! Boo - NICE PHOTO! I think, you are probably the only member thus far, that has decided to als be part of the herd pic... We all know the horses don't move unless someone is setting in the seat! Looks like you have duals on the one with the FEL... Looks good. Rob

96 Wheelhorse 2 #270 Posted November 24, 2014 There must be someone in Bangor, Maine that's getting some seat time. Maybe they're still out in the snow [emoji2] Sent from my tractor seat using Tapatalk Bangor got hit pretty hard a couple of weeks ago but the ground is all bare again, it's not a bad thing. RMCIII 838 #275 Posted November 27, 2014 Well, I am sure this is going to get some - Boos! But have to post it since dad wanted a video of his snow chucker..... Had to use it in the grass since the rest of the snow had already been cleared by the time I got home. Added some commentary to make it funny. Got tongue tied in a portion of video.... Enjoy!
