Driver 0 #1 Posted September 24, 2014 I have a WH 520LXI with power steering. The steering is "running" from side to side when I am driving straight og the stearing is a little bit loose. I can even turn the steering a little bit without moving the wheels when engine is not running. IS this just an adjustment or what can be broken? Thanks

shallowwatersailor 3,213 #3 Posted September 24, 2014 I bought a 523Dxi this summer and was surprised with the amount of wandering while driving it. My other two 5xi have manual steering. I was able to tighten the tie rods which helped quite a bit. The steering wheel will rotate with the engine off as there is no physical link, strictly hydraulic while running. Forest Road 594 #4 Posted October 22, 2014 I have a 1000 hour 522xi. My steering was ridiculously sloppy. Tie rods were so loose they almost fell off. Holes in mount for tie rods were heavily worn. While your at it remove the tunnel housing. Tighten every nut and bolt associated with your foot pedal control. Mine were so loose the tractor reached about 1/2 speed. She's like a new machine.
