rustykan 140 #1 Posted September 18, 2014 How far should the rear hubs be pushed on the axle? I have them on until I can see the key just coming through the hubs outer edge. Is that correct? This leaves about 1/4" clearance between the hub and tranny.
rmaynard 15,628 #2 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) All that I have seen have been flush with the outer edge of the axle. Edited September 18, 2014 by rmaynard
rustykan 140 #3 Posted September 20, 2014 So the set screw tightens down on the woodruff key? I wasn't sure that was correct because it was not mounted that way originally. Also, when filling the transmission, do I fill to the dipstick marking or the level of the fill plug located beside the axle? There seems to be a big difference. I don't want to overfill. rmaynard 15,628 #4 Posted September 20, 2014 The set screw should tighten on the woodruff. Fill transmission to the "full" mark on the dipstick. Filling to the plug on the side will not bring the fluid to the correct level.
