grandmas312 6 #1 Posted September 4, 2014 I lost my grandma last year and at her estate auction I wanted to purchase something I knew would be around for a while that my sons could enjoy. That's where her 1989 312-8 comes in. I think I paid $325 for the tractor and deck but no mule drive (it was misplaced years ago) and the tractor wouldn't always start. I pay the neighbor kids to mow my lawn, so the deck wasn't really important to me at the time, and with no mule drive, kinda useless. I ended up trading my father-in-law the deck for a storage tent for the back yard. That was kind of a mistake. I'll explain more later. So late last winter, I started looking for a Rototiller for my 312-8 and that's when I stumbled on this site and shortly after that is when the obsession started. In the last roughly month and a half, I have bought four more horses, a snowblower, Rototiller, snowplow, belly blade. The horses are: GT-1848 that came with the snowblower, a 252-h with deck and snowplow (needs work), a b-165 with deck that needed a starter gear (fixed) mows good. And my most recent purchase a 518-h with a deck, snowplow, belly blade, and a bunch of spare parts. That tractor needs motor work and is for sale: I'm not good with engines. So far I've learned a bit on the ones to stay away from and some good deals when I see them. So, it turns out the tent works good to keep all the junk out of the barn and keep the horses in their stables. I'm married with two little boys 5yrs and 2yrs. Surprisingly, my wife hasn't gotten too mad over the fact I still pay the neighbors kids $20 to mow the lawn with 5 horses in the barn. Sorry for the novel, I guess I was rambling, Matt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

grandmas312 6 #17 Posted September 5, 2014 Probably another maroon stripe I'm grow found of those. I have my eye on a 417-8 with hydro lift that's been listed awhile just holding out till he needs the cash more than the tractor. Price is still a little high.
