Hey Folks,

Picked up this little guy this weekend.  Was not looking for one it just jumped in my lap.  Cleaned it up a little bit. It sat under a porch for a long time. Woman said it was her husbands and he ran it dry before it was stored.  Gas tank is clean, could not get her to fire but did not have that much time to spend on it.  Will have to check the points as it is getting fuel, but no spark as of yet.  Will start looking for a manual and hopefully have this running soon.  let me know what you think and what is it missing?

Engine seems correct, its an H55D if i remember correctly.

That looks about as complete as one could hope for a barn....ummmm......porch find. It's a 551 with a nice sickle bar mower to boot. Great find!! :handgestures-thumbupright:

That's hard to answer. A lot depends on how bad you want it. I got my Suburban for a good price on Ebay but my proxy bid would have been more than I should have paid. Fortunately there was only one other bidder and it stopped well short of my max. You've got the guards and attachments that I didn't get. I'll let others comment on the price.

What did you pay for it? haha..

I believe the price you pay for something is completely based on what the "object" is worth too you! :handgestures-thumbupright:

So there is only opinions not what is right or wrong! You did good either way! :text-+1:  :wh:

I would much rather see you riding this thing than it sitting under a porch!!

Awesome  :wh: find.  :bow-blue:

And I would not be of much help as I am new to the addiction but I got it in a bad way!

I would try my best, just to see it running!

I am thinking it just needs the points cleaned up i hope.  Any easy way to get that hood off or do i have to just lift it up out of my way as mush as i could.  That steering wheel does not look like its going anywhere soon. lol

That is awesome, especially the sickle.   :text-+1:   Why doesn't anything like that fall into my lap?   :laughing-rolling:

Cuz you talk too much!! :ychain::)

NY, you can get more clearance by just moving the hood out of the way but it's a pain. I'd suggest that you start soaking the steering wheel/shaft so you can get it off.
