Who has a customized/built 'worker' dump cart to show off?

I'm hoping if I see some others, I will be get some ideas for my own.

I have an old steel dump cart.... it was "custom" made (Frankenstein-ish from many parts)  approx 40+ yrs ago, and my dad used it with his old gravely.. later with our 310-8, then later with my ZTR.... May have started life as a Gravely item, IDK.

It is just a square cart, approx 3' x 5', x 1' deep... with 1 1/2" square pocket stake pockets in the corners, and a top hinged removable tailgate, 4.80x8 tires.

I'll try to add a pic later.

I want to restore it to some degree, still gonna be a worker.  Want to clean up the rust, paint it WH red, new tires.

I will create a removable front and sides that can insert into the stake pockets to increase the capacity for things like leaves and firewood.

I'm thinking of PT decking for the side rails.

Maybe a spray-in liner material for the inside? :confusion-confused:

My goal is workable, durable, and decent looking!

I have three Wheel Horse Dump Carts

My first one I paid $80 for and coated it with POR-15  (two coats of clear in the bottom) and then painted  with Valspar IH red.  One of the wheels had a bad rust spot and I had a welder repair it correctly.

The second one I bought in Evansville , Indiana and hauled home in the trunk of a Toyota Camry  ( they fit fine upside down with the trunk lid tied down).

I repainted it with Valspar  IH Red and changed both tires -the wheels were fine.

My favorite cart -an old  LT-24 dump cart from the mid-1950's - I am leaving this as original as possible!

This is a picture of a cart/trailer I saw at a show that someone made out of the frame of an old tractor.  Neat idea and great job !

Ok, before anyone credits me, this cart is not mine....... I am trying to figure out how to sell this to the misses, especially after I dropped $325.00 on the Bolens chipper shredder.... < However, she now thinks that was money WELL spent... Now I just have to figure out a plan for this.... I many have put the CART before the HORSE, on this one! :laughing-rolling:  :hilarious:

Does a leaf cart count?   :)

You betcha!  This helps, as I have considered making a box for the top half of mine... My ZTR has a spindle-driven bagger, so I could tow it with that, and use a hose like you show, attached to the blower, instead of collecting in the bagger.... my concern with my idea is that I would end up hauling a good bit of weight when the cart was full, and that's not friendly to the ZTR pump motors

I'm familiar with the ZTR hydro problems but leaves are light!   The cart is pretty light too.   :)

Mulched leaves get heavy quick...... When I have the bags full, the front end gets awfully light! I figure a cart like yours is around 8-12 of my bags worth!

Hang a couple weights off the front end. Will help to keep the horse grounded...... :)

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
