boovuc 1,090 #26 Posted September 1, 2014 I have gator blades on one of my 42" Side Discharges also. I couldn't tell if it made a difference or not. Again......the higher the humidity when you mow, the more the lawn lays down on a turn. The higher the lawn, the more it lays down. The faster you go through turns, the more of a strip it will leave. Ideally, mowing your lawn more often gives better results. Also not mowing it all the way down helps immensely and helps keep the crab and quack grass down that holds a lot of moisture and also releases moisture when cut. (Do I do this.......? Nope! I said ideally! My yard is green. I didn't say my grass was green)! I just take a wider turn and hit what I missed. I have some really nice crab grass where the garden used to be!
