Sparky-(Admin) 21,086 #1 Posted August 1, 2014 So if a seller on Craigslist does not give a phone # or an actual e-mail address in the ad you have to use some Craigslist generated e-mail to make contact. Is there some sort of delay...meaning if you are forced to use the Craigslist generated e-mail does it get to the seller just as fast as if you sent it to a genuine e-mail address? I'm asking because in the last couple weeks I have e-mailed two different sellers using the Craigslist generated e-mail and it seems to take a couple days to hear back. I wonder if Craigslist gets the e-mail and screens it before sending it to the seller ?? Very annoying, wondering whether your message went anywhere or not. And of course I have no patience ..... zieg72 209 #2 Posted August 1, 2014 In my experience with Yahoo mail most replies to my stuff wind up as spam. With Thunderbird email I never see the spam so depending on what the CL seller has for his email program he may not be getting your response.

Kinda stinks if that's what is happening as there is no other way to contact the seller. Mike..........

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,264 #6 Posted August 1, 2014 Honestly I had people call me several days later saying it went into junk file and others (like tonight) call me back within 30 mins.

squonk 40,743 #8 Posted August 1, 2014 Yes sometimes they go to junk and no Craigslist doesn't filter e-mails. If you don't believe it, try selling a car and sit back and wait for the flood of SPAM!! in your e-mail box!! Never again!

Sparky-(Admin) 21,086 #10 Posted August 1, 2014 Update: Today I pasted the craigslist provided e-mail into an e-mail sent from my work computer using my work address (instead of my Yahoo address and my home computer), wrote a short note and hit send. Within an hour I had a response in my e-mail in-box AND a voicemail on my cell. Looks like I'm shopping this weekend!! Mike......
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,158 #11 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) I agree with all that is said above ...but a few people,And I'm not talking just craigslist, just plain don't get back to you when you interested in something they have for sale or somebodys looking for a part and you offer it to them for FREE!! Makes me wonder why some people can't return a message ?? ... I could guess they're busy(which I also can be at times) or just plain don't want to. Its happened to me more than once on craigs list, Ebay and here on the Red Square. Kind of "Rude" I would say...but thats the way some people are. Just my . RMCIII 838 #12 Posted August 3, 2014 It does not take any longer. It does, as it has been pointed out, sometimes wind up in the "Junk" file. RC
