scotty 252 #1 Posted July 28, 2014 http://www.sears.com/craftsman-garden-tractor-sleeve-hitch/p-07124586000P Would this work or would i need a wheel horse sleeve hitch looking for the cheapest option so i can run a single bottom plow.
KC9KAS 4,741 #2 Posted July 28, 2014 I think you would be better off buying a Wheel Horse sleeve (clevis) hitch, OR if your tractor has a slot hitch, fabricate a slot to sleeve adapter. Is your plow like this? Here is an OEM adapter for the same plow. Here is the adapter I made, although it is too short, you can see the concept. scotty 252 #3 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) I don't have a plow but looking for one. but that adaptor looks interesting and doesn't look very hard to make. Thanks for the reply. Edited July 29, 2014 by scotty
Racinbob 11,383 #4 Posted July 29, 2014 Definitely go with the Wheel Horse hitch. That Craftsman hitch looks quite flimsy.
scotty 252 #5 Posted July 30, 2014 Okay im a little confused now what is the actual hitch name so i can use a plow and is all i need is the hitch or do i also need that adaptor? sorry if i sound a little dumb haha.
KC9KAS 4,741 #6 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) scotty, here are some photos I borrowed from this forum. This is a slot hitch: This is a clevis (also called a sleeve) hitch: The slot to sleeve adapter I made and posted is for a clevis hitch plow (2nd photo) and used in a slot hitch 1st photo) on the tractor. Clear as mud! Edited July 30, 2014 by KC9KAS
