Hossenfeffa 49 #1 Posted July 12, 2014 Bought this snow thrower for my 312-8. Previous owner said it fit a 312. Yes it will attach, but I have some reservations as to wether or not it will work. I don't think the idler pulley is stock, because most of the others I have seen are two idler set ups. ( [ ] I can't figure out how or where the big spring attaches so you can lift the snow thrower. © I do not believe the drive pulley is stock.(D) There is no ID tag anywhere on the unit, but I think it is a wheel horse blower. So, will this unit work on my 312-8? The tag is no longer readable, but I believe it is a 84 or 85 model. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The rear round bar looks too small a diameter to fit the front hitch properly and the frame it sits in would be too long. That bar went through a pair of holes in the front of the tractor frame. The double pulley likely replaced a single groove pulley with a 5-1/2" OD for 3/4" shaft. Late models used a 7/8" shaft. Idler should have one v-pulley and one flat pulley. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,169 #6 Posted July 13, 2014 I would say models prior to 1973 with horizontal engine crankshaft when the front quick hitch was added except GT-14, 953, 1054 and 1054A.
