B80 Burnt out voltage regulator

Is there a replacement part number for a voltage regulator and maybe a way to test the stator to see what may have caused the regulator to melt down.

Using a multimeter in the AC mode, and the engine running at full speed (3400-3600 rpm), you should read about 38 to 45 volts AC across the leads of the stator.

Most of the charging problems are caused by bad connections. If you replace the reg, make sure the connections are clean and tight

I think I burnt it out while welding on the belt cover i tested the stator no problems. I ordered one from stens for fifty bucks. Thanks for all the replies
