Recommended Posts

I am looking for deck belt size for my C121(motor to side discharge deck) so I can go to TSC and buy one. So I am looking for the inches.

Thanks

What size deck do you run or what is the model # of it?  ...  36, 42, or 48" wide.  That determines what belt is needed.  Whatever the length, I would URGE you to  NOT buy an after-market belt.  It will NOT fit right and result in premature failure.  Once you determine what size deck you have, call a Toro dealer for the correct belt.  The OEM belt is a few bux more, but well worth the money.

It had a 42" deck and I put a 48" on there. The 42" rotted out. The 48" deck is from the 1980s. It has worked great. The drive belt for the deck has warn and has rolled over.

That is EXACTLY why after-market belts are junk....they don't PRECISELY fit the geometry of the V pulley and they begin to twist because of that.  Under tension, the twist will result in roll-over, expectially when you try to get more tension to keep the belt from 'slipping'.

Buy the OEM belt....and be done with it.  I think the belt # is 102742.

      Hello helpful Wheel Horse enthusiasts!

Maybe you all could help me figure something out. I don't think I am installing the mower deck properly on my 1989 252-H and I don't know if the PTO clutch is adjusted right.

So referencing this image here from the service manual for the mower deck (37"):

What exactly am I doing with this adjustment knob and how does it fit into this piece?

Also for the PTO clutch where am I sticking the feeler gauge exactly and do I need to do all 3 springs? Or does adjusting the one in the manual adjust all three?

      Much obliged for the help!

Well it looks like I'm out of luck. I have been looking for blades for my Lawn Ranger and having zero luck. I have tried Wheel Horse part numbers 7908, 7909. Toro part numbers 8777, and 53322 and no one has anything like this. I was thinking about doing a cut down, but finding right hand and left hand blades seems to be the problem.
Anyone making blades, constructing blades, got a work around, etc? My blades are usable, but that is about it.

I have a 1996 520H Wheel Horse for sale.  The tractor has just over 800 hours on it.  It comes with a 48 inch deck.  The deck is a 1995 and has over 1,500 hours on it, as it came brand new with my 312-8 that I sold several years ago.  This 520-H has the swept front axle so it can handle a 60 inch deck.  I just replaced the battery and the deck belt this summer.  The engine is a 20HP Onan and it starts right up but requires the full choke.  The transmission is an Eaton 1100-062, hydrostatic.  The deck is in rough shape but the spindles appear to be in good working order.  The right rear tire has some cracking.  The original operator's manual for the 520H is included, as is the original operating and maintenance instructions for the deck, plus the installation instructions for the deck.  Also included is a new PTO belt and several miscellaneous deck wheels and rollers.  Additional pictures available upon request.  Asking $500.
