entropy 104 #1 Posted June 24, 2014 Hi all looking for some help. I was running the mower and heard an abnormal sound, so I took off the side panel with the belt drives and found my belt tensioner to the rear drive tranny shot. There were no innards at all, I was surprised it was still holding the belt! Anywho does anyone know where I can get a new tensioner pulley for my tractor? Or what the part number is? To clarify, if you are sitting on the tractor it is on the right side, inline but below where the forward reverse tranny lever is. Thanks in advance for your help. varosd 1,185 #2 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Do you mean part # 43? 112791 part number for the 520 HC. the regular 520 is a different part Edited June 24, 2014 by varosd
entropy 104 #3 Posted June 24, 2014 Thanks for the schematic. I believe it is part # 44, the innards to the pulley. The pulley itself is ok, the guts are wrecked though. Any idea where I can get a replacement?
varosd 1,185 #4 Posted June 25, 2014 106450 part number for #44 $1.64 on partstree.com also on Fleabay as a toro part instead of Wheel Horse My lift lever ( #40) where that spacer goes into had wallowed out the back end of the lever and it came apart one day. I got a used lift lever with the pulley and that spacer for $10 off Fleabay. Where in PA are you located?

pfrederi 17,900 #6 Posted June 25, 2014 Just to make sure ... the pulley #43 has an internal ball bearing... part 44 is a flanged spacer not part of the pulley and has no moving parts. They do how ever wear out and the slot in the handle gets damaged as mention above.
entropy 104 #7 Posted June 25, 2014 Thanks Paul and Don. It must be part #43 that I need. The price is just a little more then $1.64.......... About $74 more! Pricey, but the wheelhorse is worth it and it is the 1st repair I have had to do. I'm actually thankful this is all it was cause when it started making noise I was afraid of engine failure(as the sound came from the area near the rear cylinder). My immediate fear made me realize how much I love this machine! And also how much I would dread going back to a push mower in the interim. So Thanks again for your help, now to get the parts and get her up and running again. Dave
entropy 104 #8 Posted June 25, 2014 So I was going to order the part from parts tree, but decided to check my local lawn shop 1st(star lawn mower inc). The price they quoted me for part #43 was $62(a savings of $12). They would have to order but could get it. I then asked the guy if he had a pulley that was an eyeball match to mine in stock. He pulled one out that is a perfect match and costs $26.15. Awesome! And sold! Wheelhorse now fixed and saved many dollars. I thought I should share this as the local shop was cheaper and buying there supports my local community. So cross check your local shops you may be pleasantly surprised.
