LindsayLaperr 5 #1 Posted June 20, 2014 Sooo... Brushes in my starter are kinna gummed up and pretty worn. Work for now, but in the future where might I find some replacements? It's the original starter for Kohler k301s which I think is bendix ?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Save Old Iron 1,565 #2 Posted June 20, 2014 A quick search of small engine repair parts sites will show kits are available to rebuild the starters one example http://www.jackssmallengines.com/Products/KOHLER/Starter-Part/Starter-Brush-Kits/435535/56955/s

Fordiesel69 258 #5 Posted June 20, 2014 Also get a new gear so you do not ruin the flywheel. It looks quite worn like your end bearing is getting loose..
