Duff 206 #1 Posted September 27, 2008 Calling out to Bustedglass (Kaintuckee Mike) and other 37"SD deck owners! We chatted several months ago about Gator blades for our 37 SD decks. At the time, we thought there was no Gator Blade made for this deck, and there was none that is adaptable. Mike told me, "there is a mulching blade that can be made to fit this deck. It is a Snapper 19" Ninja blade, Part # 27436T ( you will need two (2) of these blades for your deck ). NOTE : You will have to drill out the center hole on the Ninja blades to 3/4" to make them fit your deck. This is the first year for my Ninja blades, and I have only been able to cut the grass once because of all the rain here, but I was really impressed with the way the Ninjas' cut. So all I can say is, go to your nearest Snapper dealer, get your Ninjas', and knock yourself out... " I never had time to go for the Snapper blade, but tonight as I was looking around the Internet I found an actual Gator blade I think will fit our decks. It's 18-1/2" long with a 3/4" center hole. I ran out to my shop and measured the extra blades I keep for my deck - 18-1/2" long! This Gator is designed for a Cub Cadet 3-blade, 54" set up, but it sure looks like two would fit our decks just fine, and at $10.58 a piece, the price sure looks good! http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.as...96333&catID=435 Any one out there know why this shouldn't work? Cheers! Duff :banghead:
kpinnc 11,908 #2 Posted September 27, 2008 And just FYI- If you can drill ANY part of a mower blade, please pass on the procedure to the rest of us. The times I have tried, I failed because the blades are hardened. You can have a machine shop punch them out, But I've never been able to drill them. Kevin Yeah, that's partly why I dragged my feet on going after something I'd have to drill..... Duff :banghead:
