Aldon 4,828 #1 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) Well, I wish everyone a fine Show week. I cant get away and I am getting ready to start restoring my C161. It looks ok from a distance but is in need of real elbow grease, sand blasting and paint/parts. The seat is absolutely shot. Just the metal pan. So I may have over paid, perhaps in bidding war with someone on this site but I am now the new owner of a reupholstered Actual Wheel Horse seat. I figured it was worth it to ante up to get an actual seat. But thats just me. I am sure a Tractor Supply Michagan seat would have sufficed but I really like the look of this one. I imagine if I could get out to the show I might find something that would suffice but as I can't, I bit the proverbial bullet. Again, I wish everyone headed out safe journey. AMC RULES 37,144 #2 Posted June 18, 2014 It'll be worth every penny... once it's mounted in place. Nice score.
Aldon 4,828 #3 Posted June 18, 2014 Thanks! I figued I only spent 75 more than I would for a generic seat. For some reason I thought the show was in Indiana. I see there is a Show in PA this week. I might just be able to coerce the missus into letting me break away for the weekend:)
AMC RULES 37,144 #4 Posted June 18, 2014 Let's hope you do... bring a tractor for the Friday night cruise.
Racinbob 11,448 #5 Posted June 18, 2014 Maybe it was pricy but I wouldn't say you overpaid because that's what you wanted. There's been times when I see something on Ebay that I just 'have to have' and, barring insanity, I make sure I'm the high bidder. You soon forget the extra bucks you have in it. There's a lot of nice seats out there but that is one of the nicest. I don't have to tell you that you'll be getting a lot more comments about it than you would a generic seat. Looks great!
546cowboy 301 #7 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) You will love that seat. The upholstery shop where I had that done does really nice work. The do a lot of custom interiors and restoration work. That is some rally nice material and the stitching is really nice. Enjoy! The bidding went crazy right before it went off and I sold another one just like that last week and they were really pleased with it. Aldon 4,828 #8 Posted June 18, 2014 Well, I have not sat in many of the different Wheel Horse Seats but from an Aesthetics standpoint, if I was building my ultimate rider using only existing parts, this particular seat is my favorite style. I especially like the adjustable back support. So I am pretty stoked to get it installed. Thanks for selling it!
