jachady 130 #1 Posted June 15, 2014 Found these in a barn. Got them for free!! I wish I had taken before pictures, I was thinking of taking a few parts off and scrapping them myself. They were so covered in dirt, dust and grease they were almost solid grey. The tractor is missing a few parts and the fuel pump doesn't work but it fired right up on starting fluid. Since it started, I figured I'd take it down to work and pressure wash it and see what I really had. When I brought it home my wife said she doubted if I would've gotten them for free if the guy had cleaned them himself. leeave96 487 #9 Posted June 16, 2014 I had a couple of C-111’s and sold them like an idiot. Plenty of power for the 36 inch deck, crazy easy steering. The Briggs started easier than just about any Kohler I've owned. What I didn't know is they had the mighty 8 pinion tranny and 1-1/8 inch axles. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,026 #16 Posted June 20, 2014 B&S engines all have magneto ignition and some Wheel Horse tractors used a "battery style ignition switch" plus an isolation relay to control the magneto ignition. jachady 130 #17 Posted June 20, 2014 So, since I now have to kill the tractor by grounding the spark plug with a screwdriver, do you suppose it went bad? A little background. The key switch is definitely bad because the po wired the light switch as the kill switch. You have to have the headlight switch on then turn the key to start the tractor. You can turn the key off but the engine stayed running til you turned off the headlight switch. The switch no longer controlled the lights. I believe the headlight switch just went bad because the tractor wouldn't run at all until I disconnected the wires from the headlight switch. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,026 #18 Posted June 20, 2014 My guess is the relay is OK and the PO replaced the ignition switch with the wrong one or the original just went bad. It should have an "I" (eye) terminal for the ignition and it probably has a "M" terminal. The "I" terminal should power the relay. An M terminal will not power it.
