stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #2 Posted June 15, 2014 Karl- I think it all depends on what station you look. I was showing less than 10-20% chance of rains for Thursday and Friday.

squonk 41,050 #4 Posted June 15, 2014 I use both Accuweather and Weather bug. The forecast will change again and maybe again. As of Sunday morn: Accu: Thurs 30% chance of T-storm high 84 Fri 25 % chance of rain High 81 Sat 55 % chance of of T-Storm high 82 Weather Bug Thurs 40 % chance of storms high 88 Fri 40% chance of storms high 84 Sat 40% chance of storms high 84 See they don't have a clue yet. I wait until Wednesday afternoon. Then it's official to me. I have had better luck with Accuweather than anything else, especially precip.
Lane Ranger 10,968 #5 Posted June 15, 2014 I was going to take the fenders (not original) off my old RJ (we are bringing two and a 633 to the BIG SHOW) and keep it original but the Saturday forecast makes me think I will just keep them on to keep from slinging a little mud! jdleach 525 #6 Posted June 15, 2014 Here in Indiana, when the forecast states "Partly Sunny", with a chance of rain in the 20 to 40 percent range, it is usually understood that the showers will be short-lived and scattered. May rain, but if it does, it will end pretty quickly, then the sun will re-emerge. That forecast doesn't particularly worry me.

cruisnblue48 835 #15 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) So what do you all do if it does rain? I will be bringing some of my ponies to the big show for the first time on an open trailer. My horses don't like to get wet. Also, do you leave your tractors out on the grounds over night? I live about 35 miles from the fairgrounds so I will probably drive home during the night. stevasaurus 22,713 #16 Posted June 16, 2014 There are a couple of barns there where you can get them out of the weather...plenty of room...I have left mine in there over night a few times. Plenty of canopies to stand under if it starts to rain...the show must go on. Actually rain is not a big deal.
squonk 41,050 #17 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) Haven't had a Horse that hasn't gotten wet yet! The local Steam Pageant is known for a deluge or 2. Last year my C-160 got so wet that when I started it after getting home, the flywheel fan shot water out of the shroud and across the garage! Although I might be buying a horse this year that I won't want to get too wet. It will fit in the Hotel room nicely! Edited June 16, 2014 by squonk
squonk 41,050 #18 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) Actually standing under my canopy is welcome if it rains. The more hands keeping water build off the roof the better. Edited June 16, 2014 by squonk

squonk 41,050 #23 Posted June 19, 2014 Got to love weather forecasters. They said rain would push south of me and the hole route shows rain now. Looks like southern PA will be a battle front between cool and dry air and the warm and humid
