Picked up a Suburban 1961 which has a Clinton in it. Looks original, but not sure yet. Came with original wheel weights, snow plow and mower deck. Oh yea this one has the serial number on the tractor and the mower deck. I'm tickled about this find. I already cut some grass with it. enjoy!!

Great find! I don't own around hood but when I do I'm going to be searching long and hard for that style of rear tire, love that tread pattern!

Awesome find! Don't think that clinton would be original on a 61, but I see no reason to change it they are good little engines and it looks perfect on your tractor. Even has the hard to find 603 foot rests too!

Not sure yet. This might be a good one to clean up and leave alone

Thanks for all the kind comments fella's. The gentleman I purchased it from says he has all the paperwork that was from the original purchase. He has to find it for me. This is the first one I have found with the original serial number on it and the mower deck.

Yes Jake I like the fact that it has the cast iron footrests, which is another first for me.

I am not certain about restoration, although it needs rear axle seals and transmition gaskets. What would you guys do restore or leave alone?

Denny, that is a tough one to decide to restore or leave alone.  I think I would do the gaskets and seals on the rear end and just clean it up a little.  Maybe a light oiling to protect the nice patina of that little gem! Very nice find! Did you get any looks from the neighbors when cutting the grass with it?

I'd say it's a win, win situation. It looks good as is and would be a great restoration project. Personally, I'd probably end up restoring it but I just like projects. You're probably thinking smarter by just cleaning it up and keeping the original look.

Well one thing you can be sure of is that it is going to keep your thighs warm while you are using it. That's a nice tractor. Good luck with it.
