IndianaMatt 34 #1 Posted June 10, 2014 How many 8 speed 400 series tractors did they make? I have a 414-8, 416-8, and most of a 417-8. I think its my god given duty to get a complete set. So what other models are out there?

IndianaMatt 34 #3 Posted June 10, 2014 That is what I thought I have never seen a 418 or 420 8 speed. Was there ever a 412?

papaglide 542 #8 Posted June 10, 2014 I have a 420-8. It started as a 416-8 but I had it repowered with a very new 20 horse Onan. I know it doesn't count but just thought that I would throw it out there. Been thinking of have decals made for it.
dennist 139 #9 Posted June 10, 2014 Factory 418-8 was one of the best and smoothest running WH tractors I ever owned it had electric lift. Here we go......wish I would have never sold it!

Wheel-N-It 2,968 #12 Posted June 11, 2014 My 400 series 8 speeds are a 414-8 Magnum powered and a 416-8 K powered. Excuse the 416-8 pic. Thats the day I brought it home after it sat in a barn for five years. It looks alot better now than what you see in the pic.
IndianaMatt 34 #13 Posted June 12, 2014 now I have more questions- I know the A is auto and the H is hydro... But what is a C or a LSE? What is the difference between a hydro and an auto?
wh5208speed 645 #14 Posted June 12, 2014 LSE was the limited edition Wheel Horse Made in 1987 with all kinds of chrome. It was a 20hp Kohler magnum that was a hydro. Only made 200 and are highly desirable. The C stood for commercial. The 418-A vs the 418-C...the C had upgrades of HD front spindles, better seat, and HD 48" mower deck. RMCIII 838 #15 Posted June 12, 2014 I think I recently saw a 418-8, maybe still there, for sale in Cincinnati. RC
Wheel-N-It 2,968 #16 Posted June 12, 2014 If its a good one you should go for it. They are hard to come by in any shape. I believe the 418's have the Magnum twin, upgraded fron the old points and condenser sparked KT-17.
520HC 208 #17 Posted June 13, 2014 I bought a 418-8 on E-Bay from Cincinnati a couple months back. It completes my 418 series. 418A 418C 418-8.

Forest Road 594 #19 Posted June 19, 2014 Or you could have Vinyl guy make a 418-8 magnetic sticker for ya. We won't tell!
IndianaMatt 34 #20 Posted June 20, 2014 I would know it was just a sticker...
