Bert 760 #1 Posted June 9, 2014 I couldn't resist this little horse, fair price and not very far from home. Im going to get it wednesday after work, it looks complete but ad says it doesn't work. Bert 760 #4 Posted June 10, 2014 Ive had a couple of these short frame tractors and liked all of them. Does anybody know what engine this should be? It looks like a typical hh tecky but with the 700 name I wonder if its 7hp? Gotta love the barn fresh look lol
Hammerhead 817 #5 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Very nice find for sure Bert! It will clean up nicely and the seat is rare and worth a good amount by itself! It should be a 7 hp. Tecumseh engine, you are correct Sir! Go get her fast! The Work Horse 700 was only made one year, 1969 of course! Edited June 10, 2014 by Hammerhead

Bert 760 #13 Posted June 14, 2014 Well I went and picked up the work horse on wednesday, had it running thursday and mowed with it on friday lol The PO said it had a bad rod or something but the sound he heard was the starter stuck in the engaged position while turning it by hand. Had to replace the throttle butterfly shaft as the original was busted causing it to either stick wide open or search up and down. The deck was stuck so when i took it off I found bale twine around both spindles, had to cut that out and give it a ton of greece. The bad news, the engine is tired and the deck isn't level Not really a big deal, looks like I have another project
