Hi! New member from BC... I just bought this 1969 Wheel Horse and I don't know anything about it - I don't know the model, I know it has a kohler engine

and the blade guard looks wider than others I've seen.  It needs a new battery, the headlight cover is missing, guy I bought it from says it was his grandfathers - original owner and he got it when his grandfather died.  Fired it up a year ago and it ran, but it's been sitting in a shed since and he couldn't get it started before selling.  Can anyone tell me anything about it?  Any info much appreciated.  I'm totally excited about it, very cool looking machine and I'm keen to learn everything I can.  This is my first resto project and I'm learning as I go.  Total newbie! My plans are not to do a full resto, I want to replace the seat as its in bad shape and I want to replace the headlight cover, theres some rusted out spots on the blade guard but not going to fix it, don't want to paint it just want a clean solid engine and make it run.  I like the banged up look, it's going to get used.

Maybe check to see if there is a tag where the circle is look up under the dash on this side....if there is one it should tell the model on it...Welcome to RS!

AH!

Looks like I have a 1969 Charger 12 :)

And it's sitting right in front of my patio so I can look at it all day long.

Day 1! I shop vac'd and power washed since this photo - scary beasts were living in her. She still needs a name.

Next: clean the carb real good, fresh new battery, new filter, tube for the front tire ...

ISO headlight cover, seat (original would be nice ;) ) brake light and steering wheel decal / centre piece

Ahhhhh!!! She runs! And it's awesome - we got new tires, 6.5 width but they fit - we couldn't find any original size - our starter has a soft spot so were looking for a new one, if anyone has a rebuildable one ...
