Mikez655 6 #1 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) Hey guys I've got two 655 wheel horse tractors and they have different tire sizes in the front. One has a skinnier type tire in the front the other has a wider type tire. Both sets say wheel horse right on them so I know they are original. Any reason why they had 2 different tire sizes? Kelly 1,029 #2 Posted May 21, 2014 The Tecumseh powered tractors in the 60's had the skinny from tires 4x8, and narrow rears 6x12, the Kohler powered tractors got the bigger 5.6x8 fronts and the 8.5x12 rears, yours may have been swapped or ordered that way.
Mikez655 6 #3 Posted May 21, 2014 Hmm that's interesting. The 655 that I restored with the bigger front tires has a tecumseh on it that I believe is original. But it could of originally had a kohler on it?
Kelly 1,029 #4 Posted May 21, 2014 What size rear tires do they have ??
SousaKerry 501 #5 Posted May 21, 2014 655 only came with a Techy, 855 had the Kohler. Tires do get swapped around and as said before dealer may have done it from the beginning maybe even by mistake.

Mikez655 6 #7 Posted May 22, 2014 My rear tires are 6x12. It's strange, I pulled out both original owners manuals and they show them with the bigger front tires.
