grinchsr 609 #1 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) I have 2 snow blowers one is a 90's model #79360 ( single stage ) 42 inch and the other is a late 70's model 96-42ST01 also 42 inch. Will they both fit a 416? The newer one is off of a 520. I did notice the lift tubes are different. The 520 one has a bend in it and the other is straight. Why the difference? Which tube do I need to use on the 416? Edited May 9, 2014 by grinchsr
bmsgaffer 2,043 #2 Posted May 9, 2014 The bend in the lift tube, from what I understand, is only there to clear the steering on the 520's with the swept axle. You can use either on the 416, but I would stick to the bent one for the 520 if you have the swept forward axle because otherwise you will hit a steering component. I believe they are the same length.
grinchsr 609 #3 Posted May 9, 2014 Good info THANKS It does make sense the bent one would go with the 520. I just got home and compared them and you are right they are the same length
