Let me guess here... Before was before his wife knew what he was getting.... Honey it will look exactly like "Before", But somewhere between "Before" and "After" After became "well honey, it is a Wheel Horse" :laughing-rofl:  :ychain:  :eusa-think:

Thanks everybody for your comments. I thoroughly enjoyed your wit. Laughed a lot.

Now the rest of the story: The B80 was my dad's bought new in 77. He used it for mowing and garden work. When he passed I got the tractor. The 36" mower was rusted out so bad repair was not an option. The dealer told me there was no decks available. I replaced the engine with a K341 that I overhauled. Then I overhauled a 42" SD and put on it. My son then used it to mow his three acres. When he no longer needed it my son in law used it to mow his property. One day he decided he wanted a new machine so I got the tractor back (still worked fine). I mowed and gardened and blew snow for several years. Meanwhile, I was prepping the C145 for work. My intent was to restore the B80. I got a little side tracked when the D200 had an engine oil leak and of course "one thing led to another".

So that is where before and after came from. The B80 has been in the family from day one and has a lot of sentimental value to me. It has done a lot of work over the years and I think it deserves to be restored. Would like to send it to "Rick's Restorations" but I could never afford that.

I would think that is the difference between doing it for profit and doing it for the love/enjoyment.  After doing a complete restoration, could you sell the tractor for enough to get your costs of the parts/materials back .... much less your time?

I've yet to do even a 20' restoration and I'm not sure I ever will.  I just can't seem to stay off them long enough.  I guess I need more so I can take one "out of service"...... right guys?

Maybe Matt in TX, would work with you.. He just finished that really nice 444... Shipping may come into play, but I would guess you would still be money ahead if he agreed to do it vs. Rick.
