truckin88 104 #1 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Thinking of getting one for york raking and bush hogging. Anyone know anything about them. I love the look and it looks like parts and support are available. Edited April 27, 2014 by truckin88
Rock farmer 41 #2 Posted April 28, 2014 I know a thing or two about them. I have two. Plus two other very similar tractors. They are great for the York rake. But, for bush hogging? No live PTO can make it a chore. When ever you lift the brush cutter the pto has to be engaged for the hydro lift to work. Makes it a bit scary if kids are around! It all depends on wether you have long strieght runs, or, a lot of obstacles to work around. Joe
js5020 111 #3 Posted April 29, 2014 Move up an era or two (jubilee or 600/800 series) get live hydraulics and on some live pto, overhead valve engine and a few other "modern" conveniences.
Wheel-N-It 2,969 #4 Posted May 17, 2014 I had a 1948 8N. It was a good tractor. Really good for pulling a blade or rake. My neighbor has used one to bush hog with for decades. I would rather have something a bit newer for that, but don't let anyone discourage you from getting one.
