C-145 doesn't move

Recommended Posts

I got the C145 with ARC loader running today the motor sounds good but the tractor won't move.  It has a manual trans and doesn't move forward or back and the input shaft does turn so I'll be pulling the transaxel and replacing it with one from a C101.  I'm going to try to fix the one I pull is there anything that jumps out as a possible cause for the problem?

Have someone look at the back wheels and make sure that an axle shaft is not spinning within the hub. If it is, then you sheared a Key and its not too bad to fix if there isn't major damage. (Or it could have ruined an axle)

If neither are spinning in the wheel then you have to tear into the transmission, something got crunched.

Could be a disintegrated differential or stripped gear.

Check the hi/lo shifter, might be in between gears.

What the guys are saying above is most likely what is going on.  Jack up the rear end, check out what they are saying.  Try hanging on to one of the tires (to keep it from spinning) in 1st gear.  If the hubs are locked in place the other tire should turn when you hold one of the tires in place.  With the horse shut off and in neutral, if you turn one tire...the other one should turn in the opposite direction.  :)  Let's go from there.

Thanks for all the replies, the key is sheared on the right axle I hope to make time to pull it apart this weekend and replace the key if there isn't any damage.
