64s 83 #1 Posted April 21, 2014 I know a few of you guys have vendors for hard to find items. I need some idler pulleys from the RJ-58/59's, item number 3542. Who do you use??? Thanks in advance!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #2 Posted April 22, 2014 Have never seen an aftermarket replacement but surely there is something available. The only other place I've seen the 3542 used is on the SR-64 speed reducer. 2" OD flat idler? What is the shaft or bolt size it mounts on? Width of the pulley? Will do some looking. 64s 83 #3 Posted April 22, 2014 Garry, The only true constants would be the 2" diameter and 5/8ths width (give or take 1/8). The shaft size could be varied. I was hoping someone would have a cross reference site, but if you know of a particular site, I would appreciate it.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #4 Posted April 22, 2014 This is a Stens dealer in Ontario Canada http://www.bantasaw.com/ Go to the Idlers and Pulleys page listed on the left. Or search for these 280-016 280-206 280-854 When that line shows up click on the line and a photo pops up. The HD pulleys usually are riveted together so they have a real ball bearing in them that can be replaced. The ID has a bushing installed to reduce them to the mounting bolt size. nyquil junkie 225 #5 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) I got any replacement pulleys I needed off the shelf at tractor supply. I got the 6" gearbox side pulley there to make a kinda sorta speed reducer. It worked great so far. I could have for an 8" but then I would need a new belt. They have all sizes of pulleys, and a bunch of different size idlers. I was going to pick up a couple but it turned out I didnt need em. They also have belts and springs of every kind. Its kinda what I like about the WH, it can be fixed with mostly off the shelf parts. 64s 83 #8 Posted April 22, 2014 I'll drive 3 hours for a good tractor, but for a $10 part, not so much
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #9 Posted April 22, 2014 The Banta site and I'm sure others list the OEM part number that they replace. You might try Napa to see if they have a replacement. Napa is Prime-Line http://www.primelinepe.com/ Garry
