bmsgaffer 2,043 #27 Posted April 6, 2014 Unfortunately I don't use my horse for grass cutting duties. I only have .5 acre and the mower I use is way overkill anyways. I got this thing (hydro 36" walk behind) for a SERIOUS deal and its not a looker but mechanically perfect. It just is not fun trying to pull-start a 14hp Kawasaki when its below 50 F outside. The horse will get sweeping, dethatching, aerating, and cart duty in the summer.

Navig8r 132 #30 Posted April 6, 2014 My WH only will serve as backup for mowing, as I have an Exmark Lazer Z HP, 52" 23 HP Kawi..... It IS red, and Exmark is a Toro co., so this is acceptable here, yes? I hope so, because it is a LOT faster than the WH!
snowhound 105 #31 Posted April 6, 2014 Doing three properties this year using 418-8 with 48 in. side discharge, 416-8 with 42 in. side diischarge and C101 with 42 in. rear discharge. I'm looking for a loader for the 418 if I find one the mowing will go to the other 416-8. Ed in Belchertown, MA

WheelHorse79 271 #33 Posted April 7, 2014 My primary mower is my JD 425 with a 48" mulching deck. My backup is my '79 C-101 with a 42" SD deck (not pictured). I took off the blade last weekend and mounted the mower deck and then mowed my 3/4 acre of yard. I haven't mowed with the C-101 for 3 years, and it did great.

chip61 658 #35 Posted April 7, 2014 I bought this C160 last fall. Haven't mowed with it yet. I'm going to put my 48" deck on it and if I like it I'm going to use it. If I'm not happy with it I'll probably rebuild the engine and paint it. I'll just keep using this 314-8 if I don't like the 160. It's a very nice machine. Horse Play 393 #39 Posted April 8, 2014 I mowed yesterday for the first time with the push mower. This was last year (note the mandatory ear plugs) Should be looking better this year, the resto is almost finished (kinda old pic)
