19richie66 17,537 #101 Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) John, life kinda has a way of taking a lot of my time. Bob, it's always a pleasure hanging out. I got a burst of energy I guess. Edited April 19, 2016 by 19richie66

That's kind of what that quote is all about at the bottom of my signature. Sometimes walking away from a project until you are ready is the best thing. You could've had a finished project but not be happy with it so...
19richie66 17,537 #103 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) Trying something a little different but familiar with the rear end. Edited April 20, 2016 by 19richie66
19richie66 17,537 #104 Posted April 27, 2016 I finished up the idler plate tonight. All I need now is the right belt. Header clears it well.
Pullstart 63,271 #105 Posted April 29, 2016 Those headers would still let that V8 breath if you ever change your build mind!!!!

19richie66 17,537 #107 Posted May 1, 2016 Trying to get a little in when I get a chance. Hope to have more done here soon.
Stigian 1,234 #108 Posted May 8, 2016 It's good to see your back at this build Richie, the idler plate is a work of art
19richie66 17,537 #109 Posted May 8, 2016 Thanks. I am humbled. I don't know about a work of art but I did make it with my own hands. Just hope it works. I'm slowly plugging along. Going hydro made things a little easier for what I am doing with it.
19richie66 17,537 #110 Posted June 10, 2016 Got the dash layout cut. Made my throttle and choke levers out of D-160 assemblies. I had to flip them around and trim off some of the bracket to get them to move in the right direction. I am going with an oil pressure gauge and voltmeter. I have a 3-1/2" teleflex marine tachometer in a pedestal that I am mounting on the column. I still have to finish the framework for the fenders, fab up a floor shifter, and make the seat mount. Little by little....

19richie66 17,537 #114 Posted June 20, 2016 Got the front of the hood scoops welded and shaped today. Still have some metal filing to do and seal up the bottom of the hood "wings", for lack of a better term. Both sides get mesh and the headlight opening too. Trying to get away with as little mud as possible in the whole hood. First time ever with metal working.
19richie66 17,537 #115 Posted June 24, 2016 Fender pan back to one piece. More hammering, grinding and still need to make the mounts.
Racinbob 11,376 #116 Posted June 24, 2016 (edited) Looking good Richie. That would fit in very well with some of the cool customs at the show and there will be lots more tomorrow when the show officially opens. The super D that @gulftanebuilt is a site to behold and you ought to hear it. I'm batting almost 1000 on the stuff to bring back. Haven't got the hood from Lane yet but we talked about it. Just haven't picked it up yet. Nice afternoon, a great Mexican meal with the guys and wives, some rain this evening and it's supposed to be nice tomorrow.
