leeave96 487 #1 Posted March 29, 2014 How many of you have had to replace your drive belt? Gear or hydro drive? How many hours/years did you get out of it? What was the reason for the change in the first place? Just curious. Thanks! Bill
can whlvr 993 #2 Posted March 30, 2014 ive changed many belts,it seems that any new to me tractor needs one,but they are probally original,my hydro 312 uses belts more than any of my others, and I admit I use tsc belts on it,it takes too long for my toro dealer to get one,but it would last much longer, when I had only one horse I found my self getting a new belt about every 5 years, but that's a lot of time on it,and very hard work, ive used my 308(now 313)at workfor hundreds and hundreds, and then every thing at home,2 acres of grass, well over 1000 feet of driveway to snow plow, taking care of gravel drive, hauling firewood, tools, trailers, some very large,so I think I was getting good time out of them
bmsgaffer 2,045 #3 Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) My dad never changed the drive belt on the C-105 the entire time he owned it, and I have not changed it either. (1988 -- present) It was the year round mowing and plowing tractor up until 2009 or so. We had an acre of grass and 120' or so of driveway. leeave96 487 #4 Posted March 30, 2014 Great info! I've never had to replace a belt yet, but it looks like a simple job.
