formariz 11,987 #1 Posted March 20, 2014 I see that all head bolts use a rather thick washer. Can someone enlighten me as to why and what are the requirements for it? rmaynard 15,408 #2 Posted March 20, 2014 Head bolt washers are made from heat-treated, parallel-ground steel. They are precision ground to provide for two perfectly machined surfaces to allow for more accurate torquing. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
