Forest Road 594 #1 Posted March 17, 2014 I was up to the family camp this weekend following a 20" dumping. The guy who plows for us said he needs a backhoe to come in and push the mounds back. Our driveway is about 1000' with a large circle by the house. When I came in my truck barely fit down the driveway. Once I got my son to bed I fired up the 314h 2-stage combo. Seat time from 10:30pm to about 12:30. By now this should be old news. But once again I'm blown away with the performance of my equipment. I probably saved a few hundred $$$ by doing it myself. Not to mention it was a good time. There was a 5' high pile in front of the garage which disappeared in no time. Plow banks up to 8' high. The road coming in was 6'-8' wide and is now 10'-12'. The Magnum 14 did plenty of grunting but got it done. Dollar for dollar you just cant beat a Wheel Horse!
JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,498 #2 Posted March 17, 2014 Old news......but still good news. You can't beat a wheel horse. I wish you took a couple pics. Sounds like some snow battle. Glenn
Hodge71 664 #3 Posted March 17, 2014 These lil machines are powerhouses. I had the same problem this year once with a 21 inch snowfall over 3 days. I didnt plow back far enough on the sides of the driveway all winter because they were all 6 or 8 inch snowfalls and weren't a big deal.... Well once we got 21"coming in an once the lane got really narrow with 2-4 foot banks on the sides from the 18 Auto and 60" blade. Thankfully the farm I rent has a 350 HP JD with a 14 foot plow on the front of it and we plowed it twice as wide. I think Im going to invest in a 2 stage for the C-160 so that if it happens again next year I can clear the sides where the D had the banks 3 foot tall and blow it all out into the fields. I figure setting the skids as high as the go will be fine and then Ill clean up with the D afterwards....

I might get a chance for a few pics in the morning, seems where we live in jersey we might get just a few inches. Up your way doesnt look like nothing. Oh well,,,,,,theres allways next year. I have to add how I really enjoyed all the snow pics shared by all the wheel horse owners from the various states. Glenn

The way my property is when I used the plow I allways run out of places to stack the snow. With the snow thrower I just point and shoot,,,,put it all over the place. squonk 41,774 #7 Posted March 17, 2014 Just be careful blowing banks. We had a couple members snapping off lift arms by hitting the banks with blowers.
Forest Road 594 #8 Posted March 17, 2014 Just be careful blowing banks. We had a couple members snapping off lift arms by hitting the banks with blowers. How the heck did they manage that? Fortunately most of my snow hadn't hardened up. Pulling double duty as a sled chaser. Can't wear the kid out walking uphill!
shallowwatersailor 3,213 #9 Posted March 17, 2014 9" on the driveway - and it has to wait until it melts! I had surgery (hammertoes) on my right foot Thursday and can' drive for a while, including tractors. The surgeon was going to change the bandage today but we can't get out because the county hasn't plowed yet. But 60 degrees by the end of the week should melt it. Spring will be here by the time I'm out and about. Keep the pictures and topics coming so I can enjoy myself while housebound!!!
