D Series Mower Deck Lift

Recommended Posts

Hodge71

Well it was 63 here in NEPA today and I realize I will soon have about 6 acres to mow weekly here at the farm. I want to put the 60 inch deck back under the 18 Auto and was wondering how they tied the mid lift to the 48" belly mower. Theres no way it can be like the C series and thought maybe a hand made 1/2 trunnion with a L bolt to tie it to the lift arm. I can't seem to find the 48" owners manual for a D-series machine on the site here to see the way the factory did it. Any help would be massively appreciated. If my idea sounds kosher I wanna get going on the lathe making stuff up in the next couple weeks

I can't remember what they used originally but I used a short piece of chain, there no need for down pressure, it worked great for me before I got my 3pt finish mower.

My D-180 with a 48" deck has an "L" bolt maybe 8-10" with a threaded pin? for adjustment.

That threaded pin is called a trunnion so my idea will work....Thanks Pacer

Garry I have no idea what I do when I search but thank you so much. I looked for hours and couldn't find that manual. I see on the first page it shows a "lift link" which appears to be a trunnion and L bolt just like Pacer confirmed

Some of these mower owner manuals were originally in the tractor operator manual but I pulled them out to reduce the file size. Then I posted them in the mowers under the mower model number so using the mower model numbers is the best way to find them.

Myself I use the tractor attachment list at the Toro master parts viewer to determine the correct model number and then search the manuals here is see what we have. My goal is to have every model number represented with a parts list and anything more is a bonus. Toro won't support us forever.

Adding

Should have included that the Toro Master Parts Viewer

https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

will now accept a model name like 18 hp auto or D-160 and they will all come up. You do not need the long tractor model number.

Heh, I went blank when I tried to think of "trunnion" Ah, the fun of old age!!

I assume you dont have dimensions on the link, so I grabbed a tape and checked - its 1/2" rod 5" long under the L, threaded 1/2-13

(I guessed on 1/2 rod, just might be 7/16?)
