Drew 0 #1 Posted March 4, 2014 Hello, I have a weird one. I trailered a Raider 10 with a K241S and transported for 4 hours on a trailer on highway. It did get some salt and spray on her, but hardly anything on the engine itself. When I returned and started it up, it runs REALLY rough. It doesn't stall, blows black smoke, and will throttle up, but it struggles with loud pops. I pulled the spark plug and it's oil covered, and I can see oil on the valves. Anyone ever experience this? I can't imagine it's coming through the piston just from a trailer ride. Maybe through the intake? Any recommended steps to rectify? Thanks! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Anglo Traction 761 #4 Posted March 4, 2014 If you haven't already solved the problem, try checking the Air Filter Element. It may have got wet and is creating an intake blockage. Drew 0 #5 Posted March 4, 2014 Guys, Thank you very much for your help. I'm almost embarrassed to post the resolution, but I found the choke control was moving the sheathing and not the cable. The choke, basically, was stuck on and I didn't notice until checking the air filter and carb for blockage. . Still doesn't explain the oil soaked plug, but she fired up this morning purring. Oil was full, but smelling it is a good idea. Are you suggesting the oil level might be overfilled now if gas leaked in? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
