duke 49 #1 Posted March 2, 2014 I took apart the dash to intall a pair of rebuilt levers, talk about a nightmare! The metal lines have no give and the whole thing must remain loose until all the lines are started! I will not do another one! So much for thinking about restoring the paint this thing is not user friendly at all! I'd love to do maybe a hood & fender type of re-paint! Any suggestions? pacer 3,168 #3 Posted March 2, 2014 Might check out my post of a refurb on my 180 - I certainly didnt go into a major production getting it done, though of course you will have to devote some time, what with the cleanup and paint prep - sure wont be as involved as those valve changes! These big ole boys can be a pill in some areas to work on but I'd fight a bear if he tried to take mine away from me!

Hodge71 664 #6 Posted March 3, 2014 NOW YOU GUYS GOT ME THINKING BIG THOUGHTS! SUNRISE RED IS MY CHOICE MIGHT TAPE OVER THE DECALS? Speaking from experience…dont waste your time taping over decals. nothing make new paint look like poo struck with a club than old decals…..Your paint will be nice and they will look like a stiff…..well lets just say they'll look horrible. Go to redoyourhorse.com and get a set of stickers. They are well worth the 100 bucks and will make her look like she deserves…..
